Raspberry Pi in Your Library: Low Cost, Secure, Flexible Server Technology
Are you looking for a low-cost solution to extending the computing resources for your library’s users? Are you interested in open source and maker technologies that will lower the operating costs of library IT? Are you looking for a secure, non-cloud-based option for your online library network? Raspberry Pi may be your answer. Sign up today for this Online/Anytime workshop to investigate applications for Raspberry Pi in your own library. Enrollees will:

· Explore application of this single-board computing hardware for a range of library operations including web site hosting, and low-cost public workstations and OPAC terminals in your library. (At a per unit cost of $75*, a significant savings for your equipment budget!)

· Investigate the benefits of content ownership with a Raspberry Pi vs. using cloud services for your library.

· Be guided, step-by-step with detailed video demonstrations, to configure Raspberry Pi’s as a functional PCs running Raspian Linux. Or install a working WordPress server on the Pi for web hosting in under 30 minutes!
